The Club Fortune poker room opened in 2009, though poker has been played at the casino for a number of years before that.
The dedicated poker room features five tables, five televisions, a lounge area with poker magazines and an area for free coffee and food. Poker players receive free food from the Club Fortune deli nightly around 7PM.
As it is a local’s casino, Club Fortune spreads mainly $2-4 limit and $3-6 limit hold’em games, sometimes with a half-kill or over buttons. Occasionally, a $1-2 NL hold’em game will be spread. Minimum buy-in for the $2-4 game is $20, the $3-6 game is $30 and the NL game is $50-$300.
Poker players receive $1 hr for play on their rewards card.
Mondays, the room features a $45 buy-in “Beat the Boss” Bounty Tournament. Players receive 3,000 chips, plus 500 additional chips for every 30 minutes of live play before the tourney. For each elimination, a player receives $10 in casino chips. If the player eliminated the casino “boss” (who rotates tables every 15 minutes), the player receives $100 in casino chips. The tournament typically sells out all 40 spots plus alternates.
Cocktail service is readily available. The server staff is high quality and friendly.
Club Fortune is no longer a break-in dealer casino, as the frequency of play has picked up dramatically with the closing of nearby poker rooms at Fiesta Henderson, Hacienda and Railroad Pass. The dealers are experienced and proficient. Since almost all of their customers are repeat business, the dealers and staff know each person by name. It makes for a friendly atmosphere.
High hands are available for everything quads and above. Players must use both hole cards to qualify for a high-hand. The high hands are capped at $599 to avoid the player paying taxes on the winnings. However, the high hands rarely get over $500 as they are hit so frequently. Club Fortune also has a progressive bad beat jackpot for Aces full of Kings being beaten by quads or better.
